On December 15th,2023, the online seminar on the China-Europe New Energy Vehicle Integrated Circuit Supply Chain was successfully organized by Gensol and Shenzhen Bay Area Innovation Technology Service Co., Ltd., with the cooperation of the Austrian ETIIC Innovation Center. The event brought together nearly 30 experts, scholars, and representatives from the intelligent manufacturing and industrial manufacturing sectors in China and Europe.
To promote the development and exchange of the new energy vehicle integrated circuit supply chain, this intelligent manufacturing seminar invited Mr. Johannes Vizethum, Executive Director of the German Industry 4.0 Research Institute, and Dr. Wolfgang Penzias, former Director-General of Innovation at the European Commission, former Austrian Trade Counselor to the Gulf States, and Head of ETIIC Switzerland Innovation Center, as European industry representatives. Mr. Zeng Rong, General Manager of BRUSA China, and Mr. Li Mingju, Head of Nexgen China, spoke as representatives of Chinese enterprises, delivering keynote speeches.
As a guest and representative speaker for the event, Dr. Wolfgang Penzias pointed out in the seminar that China and Europe should leverage their respective technological and talent advantages to jointly build a Sino-European cooperative innovation platform, facing future opportunities and challenges.
Mr. Johannes Vizethum delivered a speech on “Exploring the Development Trends of Sino-European New Energy Vehicle Industry Technology Cooperation,” sharing insights on how the European veteran gearbox manufacturer ZF Friedrichshafen transformed and its latest electrification research results. He also proposed considerations for complementary advantages between European traditional car manufacturers and Chinese new energy companies.
Mr. Zeng Rong, representing the Chinese enterprise BRUSA, introduced their current perspectives on the Chinese new energy electric vehicle industry. He discussed the development opportunities, challenges, future directions, and breakthrough strategies in the field of intelligent manufacturing related to new energy vehicles, sharing practical experiences of BRUSA’s establishment of a physical subsidiary in China.
Mr. Li Mingju, Head of Nexgen China, expressed his views on the current new energy vehicle and intelligent manufacturing industries, emphasizing that China is one of the main markets for these industries. He highlighted the strong growth trend in the intelligent manufacturing industry in China in 2022, indicating better development prospects for China in the fields of new energy vehicles and intelligent manufacturing in the future.
During the seminar, both speakers and participants engaged in online Q&A interactions, discussing opportunities and collaboration models for the development of the new energy vehicle integrated circuit supply chain. The Chinese and European participants reached a consensus on potential collaboration, focusing on entering the Chinese application market through secondary development using European advanced technology combined with the Chinese enterprise supply chain and industrial systems. In conclusion, both parties expressed their intention to further exchange and interact on the direction of the China-Europe new energy vehicle integrated circuit supply chain, aiming to create a platform for collaboration among Sino-European technology companies, research institutions, and technology service providers.
